Introducing Coach Maggie

My journey into the CrossFit world started back in the Fall of 2012 when I signed up for a Fundamentals class. Not knowing anything about the sport, I walked into my first session completely oblivious as to the impact it would ultimately have on me. Once the month came to a close, I knew I wanted more. To be completely honest, it was intimidating at first but it didn’t take long before I felt a part of this welcoming community.
As a mum raising 3 active kids, it was tough to balance personal time with the demands of everyday family life. An hour in the gym became an important escape for my physical and mental wellbeing.
Since then I haven’t looked back…well, maybe a wee glance every now and then to see if I’ve left my shoes, keys or mind behind.
As I morphed into a coaching role, my focus has always been technique driven. It’s the little intricacies that determine good from great movement.
‘Technique Before Load’ is my motto ~ of course that has a whole lot to do with self preservation too!
So in short, life is best summed up by the incredibly wise Betty White (and her mum)….
“My mother always used to say, ‘The older you get, the better you get. Unless you’re a banana’. “
I knew there was a reason why I’ve never liked bananas!
