Turmeric Oat Flour Pan Cakes

Rest is the Best

We all need to take a rest day ever now and then. Rest days are just as important as our active ones. To help us get to our goals the body needs time to recover and re build. These Turmeric Oat Flour Pancakes are the perfect combination of Macronutrients and Micronutrients. They also have two very special plant ingredients for our health. Turmeric and Cinnamon are packed with numerous health benefits. Of these benefits, is their anti-inflammatory abilities.

Inflammation is a natural process. Our body goes through on a daily basis. Its part of our bodies defence and recovery systems. Turmeric and Cinnamon have phytochemical ingredients. These ingredients help us to recover from the inflammation process faster.

Ingredients

Tools:

High Powered Blender

Two Mixing Bowls

Non Stick Skillet

1 1/2 Cups of Whole Oats (I used Old Fashioned)

2 TBS of Hemp Hearts

1/2 tsp Baking Soda

1/2 tsp Cinnamon

1/2 tsp Turmeric

1/2 tsp salt

1 TBS Flax Seeds

1 Cup Milk of your choice

1 Ripe Banana

3 TBS of Water (Can add more if you want thinner batter)

2 tsp Vanilla Extract

Toppings

Maple Syrup

Nuts

Butter

In picture is used 1cup Greek Yogurt (0% fat, Plain), 2 TBS of strawberry jam, and 1 TBS of Maple Syrup (mixed), Berries and Walnuts.

Insructions

Pre heat your over to its lowest setting 150-170 degrees.

Step 1.) Add all dry ingredients in blender. Blend until all ingredients become of four consistency. Pour into mixing bowl and set aside

Step 2.) Add all wet ingredients in blender. Mix till smooth. Pour into other mixing bowl

Step 3.) Slowly add wet ingredients into dry one. Adding about a fourth at a time. Mix well.

Step 4.) If you want a thinner batter just add more water. No more than 1 TBS at a time.

Step 5.) Heat non stick Skillet to Medium – high heat.

Step 6.) I used a soup ladle to pour. Oat flour takes longer to cook than regular flour so these pancakes take about 5 mins per side. I put the cooked ones in the oven to keep warm while I cooked the whole batch.

Step 7.) Continue till all your batter is gone. Plate, add toppings of your choice and ENJOY!

I hope you all enjoyed this recipe for one of my favorite comfort foods. To me pancakes are always the start to a great day. Why not start your next rest day with this amazing anti-inflammatory breakfast.
