You have both always lived an active lifestyle, what made you decide to try CrossFit?
Our definition of fitness is always evolving. We were looking for a new challenge, something we could enjoy doing together, and in our late 50’s feel fitter than we have ever been!
What motivates you to workout?
Every day we work out is a better day, physically and emotionally!
What do you find most challenging about living a healthy lifestyle?
Living a healthy lifestyle is a priority for us, it is not challenging, simply a way of life.
Who out of the two of you is most likely to win the WOD 😉 ?
Mystee is stronger in the cardio based WODs and Rick in the strength based WODS!
Are you competitive with each other in class?
Mystee says not but always notices when I accidentally miscount my reps!
You both just competed in the Canmore Crusher, how was your experience?
Awesome!! Hard and satisfying!
Which was your favorite and least favorite of the 5 WOD’s?
Rick liked the last round best, 30 shared snatches and cleans and disliked the conga line as he went straight into the run afterward. I liked the conga line best and disliked the single arm snatch, assault bike round as I went right from the bike into the run!
If you could give one piece of advice to someone looking to start CrossFit what would it be?
Not to be intimidated! CrossFit offers fun and fitness for all levels.

We absolutely love the atmosphere and community that Liz has created at Bow Valley Cross Fit. ANYTHING is possible if you break it down and take it a step at a time!
